Ray Lee’s Story

Ray Lee was born in London, educated at Henry Thornton Grammar School. He then took a four year apprenticeship in carpentry and spent fifty one years working in the construction industry. 

Upon his retirement, he started writing children's stories and publishing them as podcasts. He then joined a writing group and started writing short stories for the local radio station. 

He entered a writing competition organised by the Dorset police on the subject of fraud prevention, and came third in his category. This prompted him to record all the winning entries and publish them as podcasts.

He started writing The Quire in 2023 and eventually had it ready for publishing in early 2026.This is his first full novel. 

He lives in North Dorset with his wife, Karen. They have four children. He produces a podcast for his local area featuring local groups and organisations. He is a member of a local choir called the Rokit Choir.
